Life Reflection of Brenda Boyd Davis Brenda Boyd Davis was born on November 24, 1940 to the late Vera Preston-Boyd and Theodore Roosevelt Boyd in Philadelphia, Pa She was educated in the Philadelphia School System. Brenda loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. In fact, she enjoyed worshipping the Lord so much that she often visited various churches to hear the gospel in all its glory. Brenda became an entrepreneur in the clothing business and managed the Point Breeze Avenue Thrift Store. In 2002, she married her best friend William M. Davis and they had a unique and loving marriage. They have known each other for over 30 years and were married for 17 years. Her biggest passion was her family, and she dedicated herself to be a caretaker for many family members. Brenda and her husband kept generations of children in their home where they instilled character and dignity in the lives they touched. Aunt Brenda, as she was affectionately known by family, neighbors and friends had a kind heart with an open mind and was able to sternly by lovingly relate with family and friends across all generations. She spoke what was on her mind whether you liked it or not. Aunt Brenda loved to cook and entertain family and friends. People would travel far and wide for oxtails. She could often be found watching cooking shows and would not hesitate to try some of the recipes. Aunt Brenda leaves to cherish fond memories, her beloved husband William M. Davis, her sister Roseellen Boyd, her great-niece Cherie Boyd who she adopted and raised; and her great, great niece Norelle Bracey; her grandchildren Darsheena Doss and Dyshay Smith; a supportive and dedicated nephew Gregory Boyd, a special cousin Michele Walker of Ridgeway, South Carolina and her best friend of countless years, Janice Moore as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Aunt Brenda was preceded in death by her sisters Gloria Boyd, Dena Boyd and brothers Carl Boyd and Theodore Boyd. In the words of our beloved Aunt Brenda, “Who loves ya baby?”
