The Life Story of a Christian Soldier, Mother Rosa Shedrick A fire baptized believer, a Bible-toter, Bible-quoter, and child of The Most High God was born on December 2, Mother Rosia Anna (Foreman) Shedrick, a fire baptized 1927, in Millen, Jenkins County, Georgia to the late Henry Etta Handberry Foreman and the late prime Foreman. Mother Rosia was baptized at Jones Temple, Millen Georgia at an early age. She was the oldest of six siblings, who preceded her death, Ina, David, Moses, Daniel, and John Willie. She met and married he relate husband, Wille A. Shedrick to whom she was married for 70 years, in Savanna, Georgia. To this union, six children were born, Christine & Steven preceded her in death. The family relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1950, where she continued her faithful service to the Lord. She became a member of The New Central Baptist Church in 1951, under the pastorate of the late Reverend Augustus Habershaw. There she continued her faithful service unto her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She knew she always with her family and church family that God will make a way somehow. This strong Christian Soldier stayed active in the church. She was faithful member of Sunday School, BTU, Back Home Hour, Congress of Cristian Education, Flower, Missionary, Emergency, Pastors support, Mothers Board and scholarship Ministries. One of her greatest achievements was when she received a plaque for 50 years of Outstanding Service in 2013, from the Women’s Ministry. Also, she was so proud and humbly honored as a Mother of the Church at New Central. Rosia was a wonderful southern cook who enjoyed serving her family, church family and friends, especially during the holidays. Mother Rosia was employed as a domestic homecare worker, the Devon Garment Industry, and at Temple University’s Paley Library where she retired from. Over the years Mother Rosia faithfully dedicated her services to meet the needs of the church. She would say, I am not tired yet, so you should not be tired either! Mother Rosia Anna Shedrick leaves to cherish her memory her children, Willie A., (Margie), Yeadon, PA, Barbara, Michael (Carol), and Rodney of Philadelphia, PA. Grandchildren, Kyle (Quina), Sharese Shedrick, Philadelphia, PA, Angelic Morton (Steven) Phoenix, AZ, Yolanda Brown, Greensboro N.C. Shadarin Shedrick, Drexel Hill, PA. Great grands, Indya Brown, Brooklyn, NY. Ian Morton, Phoenix, AZ AND Eric, Karon, and Kynady Shedrick, Phladelphia, PA. Three Sister-in-laws Rose Hubey, Detroit, MI, Mertis Shedrick, Jacksonville, FL, and Freddie Mae Foreman, Millen, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins, her New Central Baptist Church Family and so many, many friends. OUR MOTHER- Mother Rosia Anna Shedrick had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed.
