Ann was born February 5, 1940 to the late Wilhemena and Ben “Jack” Colter in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . She answered her master’s call quietly and peacefully at Pike Creek skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wilmington Delaware on February 18, 2023.
Ann accepted the lord her personal Savior at a young age at Mount Enon Baptist Church 5th and Snyder in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Ann was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. She earned her bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of the of the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C. Ann enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ann relocated to Hyattsville, Maryland for employment, and was employed by the United States Department of State in Washington, D.C. and retires after 44 years of service.
Ann found a new church home Trinity Baptist Church in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Philippians chapter 2 verses 3 through 4 says “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
These Bible verses truly exemplify how Ann lived her life. Ann was always willing to help family members and friends whenever they were in need.
When Ann’s health began to fail, she relocated to Middletown Delaware to live with her sister Beverly DuRant and brother-in-law Alan DuRant. They both look tool loving care of her at their home and made sure she received care during her numerous stays on the hospital and rehabilitation facilities.
