Carl Irvin Dobson, "P-Nut," was born to Martha E. Dobson and Coleman Silas on Saturday, August 13, 1955. His upbringing in South Philadelphia and education in the city's public school system has shaped his life. As the youngest son of six, and seventh of eight children, he went on to earn a drug and alcohol certification and applied his knowledge to counsel others. He retired after 20 years within the cleaning and maintenance industry.Carl's life was deeply rooted in his Christian faith, leading him to accept Christ as his Savior. This faith and his naturally jovial spirit made him the life of any family gathering. His infectious humor and captivating stories were a guaranteed draw, and his laughter was a hallmark of his personality. A man of great humor, Carl was also a prankster with a gentle touch and a generous soul. Beyond his faith and family, whom he valued above all else, Carl enjoyed music, games of chess and pool, a cartoon enthusiast and he had a keen sense of style, relishing social occasions. He was a familiar face at his nephew's barbershop, where he engaged in lively conversations about current events with his friends, further showcasing his love for community and connection.Preceded him in death are his mother (Martha Dobson), father (Coleman Silas, six brothers (Spencer, Walter, Oliver, Charles, Coleman and Joseph) and nephew (Elick Dobson).He leaves to cherish his memories daughter Tracey Chanel Mobley, sisters Marlene E. Haley and Charlene Silas-Curtis/ Leon, nieces Tammie Dobson, Marlene Pringle/Al, Deirdre Moore, Tanya Blount, Denise Blount, DeMorra Hawkins/ Larry, Nicole Ricketts, Tyshaun Ketner, Kia Whitehead, Patrice Lamar-Bey, JonQuil Hunt/June, Jahara Dobson, nephews, Leon T. Silas-Curtis/Darnetta, Corey Curtis/Juleah, Michael Lacey, Atif Oberlton/Serilda, Jamal Oberlton/ Beatrice, Jamo Oberlton, Damon Oberlton/Keyona and Jerome Oberlton/Mia; one sister-in-law Barbara Dobson, 34 nieces and nephews, his best friend Jerry Green, "Teeny Man" and a host of relatives and friends.
