Constance Smart

Constance Marie Smart was born December 13, 1938, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to the late Charles Terry and Geneva Dawson. She was called home from Labor to rest on Saturday January 21, 2023.

                Constance affectionately known as “Connie” was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, graduating from South Philadelphia High School.

                In her younger days Connie loved to party and have a good time. Connie met and fell in love with the love of her life, her husband Oscar Smart. Oscar spent many years in the military to make sure his wife didn’t have to work a day in her life. They settled down in South Philadelphia and from this union 8 children were born. They were married for 57 wonderful years.

Connie Served the lord all her life and was a faithful member, usher, and servant to Emmanuel Lutheran Church. And was very fond of her Pastors.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Smart, Daughter: Alice Terry Sister: Alice Terry Granddaughter Teresa Terry.

Connie leaves to honor her legacy; children: Paul Terry, Oscar Smart, Clarence Smart, Callie Ghee, Michael Smart, Tyrone Smart, Steven Smart, and Alice Terry. Son-In-Law: Tracy Ghee; Daughters-in-law: Tamika Smart, Tasha, and Dorothy; 35 grandchildren. A host of great grandchildren 1 godson Charles Cadogen, 2 nephews Roy Hayes, and Jesse Hayes.
