Curtis Anthony Allen

May 30, 1963 — October 26, 2020

My Journey Through Life Curtis Anthony Allen was born on May 30th 1963 in Philadelphia Pa. to the late Mrs. Pauline Allen Glover Stokes and the late Mr. Curtis Snead. Curtis was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system where he attended McDaniel Elementary, Vare Jr. High, and Bok Vocational Technical High School. Curtis was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed tinkering with things to see how they worked and was very skilled with his hands. While attending Bok, Curtis took up a trade in carpentry. He later landed a job at Pincus Brothers where he became highly skilled as a Suit Jacket presser of which he did for almost 20 years. He later moved on to obtain skills in sheet rock and welding. Curtis next venture was to work as a Bellman at Trinona Apts. where he was well loved by his employers and all residents who would encounter his presence on a daily basis. Curtis was a fun-loving guy who loved cracking his corny jokes with family and friends and loved being at home. He was definitely a home body and a very private person. HIS favorite past time was watching TV and especially loved his favorite show the Three Stooges. During Curtis younger years, he developed a love of basketball and football. He also had many friends, however when he was 15 years old, he met his buddy Harold and the two hung out all the time. Interesting Fact: Did you know that Curtis & Harold could have been the next big thing in the Hip Hop World? Yes Curt & Harold use to spend lots of time scratching, mixing and rapping, Yes Rapping!! He told us they would create dozens of cassette tapes at their leisure. He & Harold went on to become Best Friends and continue to stay in touch and remain friends until this day. As Curtis grew older, he loved to dance and party. He was a smooth guy with great dancing skills and the ability to create his own twist to the latest dances. Curtis has always maintained a great sense of humor and was an overall fun guy to be around. Curtis leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life for over 30 years, Mona Lisa Vann, his son Curtis Allen Jr., god son Jamal Thompson, oldest sister Verina Allen Drake, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, an Aunt, his loving step children of whom he spent many treasured years with as well as a host of friends.
