Doris Judy Gaskins affectionately known as (Boo Boo) was born to the late Mattie Hanna Gaskins and Drayton McCray on April 2, 1959, in Philadelphia, PA.
Doris graduated from South Philadelphia High and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve her country for many years. Doris was an avid learner of many things and went back to school for photography, surgical tech and mental health. Doris would eventually begin employment with Thomas Jefferson Hospital for over 30 plus years as EVS worker and as a mental health worker.
Doris could be found on any given day doing what she loved to do; working the halls of Jefferson as well as spending time with her children including her great nieces and nephews. The one thing that Doris loved very much was the enjoyment of her co-worker and friends at Jefferson. Doris was definitely a social butterfly; you could easily see her talking to every-one and anyone all the while getting her overtime.
Doris was preceded in death by her three siblings; Anthony Gaskins, Ralph and Bunny Gaskins. Two Nephews, Rodney Burgess and Gary Gaskins and one niece Tammy Gaskins.
Doris made her transition to eternal rest on October 11, 2023. she leaves behind to cherish two children Requietta and Schadda Gaskins, four siblings Ruby Cantey, Delores Burgess, Burnadette Gaskins and Gregory Gaskins, a host of nieces and nephews that she took and treated like her very own.
Doris was full of life and could brighten up any room she entered and will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
