On August 4, 1937, Ella Adams Taylor and Frederick Taylor gave birth to their first child Edith. Edith was blessed to have a brother from this same union, James Taylor born two years later. Unfortunately, in 1965 he preceded her in death.
Edith was a conscientious person Proud of her roots and heritage. As a lifelong south Philadelphian, she was educated in the public school system.
Her loving spirit led her to be married to Leon Halloway, Leon passed away in 1965 and Edith later married Lawerence P Hall., who also preceded her in death.
She was a very shrewd and extremely hard worker who enjoyed being busy, often working two jobs at the same time. She worked for Wells Fargo bank for 30 years and after retiring she went on to work full-time at the University of Pennsylvania, where she retired after 25 years.

Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church and was a most active member. She joined the choir, and her voice was a valued contribution.
While at St Charles she became a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary and remained an active member until her death.
She remained faithful to her religion, later joining St. Thomas Aquinas Parish where she shared her gifts and talents by teaching the youth in the religion education classes, even taking advantage of learning the Spanish language. She also became a member of
"Concerned Black Catholics" (CBC).
Edith had a very generous heart, giving generously to many organizations, especially to cancer survivors of which she was a proud member.
Edith leaves to cherish her memory, a very special and devoted grandson, Malcolm Greer. Cousins: Gene Roberts (Alicia), James Roberts (Barbara), and Joseph Adams, many special friends Carolyn Henry and many Good Good friends.
