George Ann Taylor was born April 6th, 1937, to the late Arthur and Annie Best. George Ann grew up in Allendale, South Carolina with her three siblings Jane Erby, Lillie Mae Brown and Booker T Best all proceeded her in death.
George Ann was educated in the Allendale school system, in 1961 she moved from Allendale to Philadelphia with her sister Lillie Mae, and on that same block she met the love of her life Richard Leroy Taylor. George Ann and Richard's family blossomed with five children and two more that they adopted.
George Ann (AKA) Bunk as she was known and called by her family, held various jobs, but her favorite was at Bryn Mawr Terrance which she worked as a Nursing Assistant for some years, until she retired.
Bunk was loved and cherish by all who knew her; some called her mom and even grand mom...that's love. mom loved all her children and grands when you ask her how many she had, she would say i been stopped counting and would laugh.
George Ann had a larger-than life personality. She got along with all would come by with her favorite soda, PEPSI. Everyone on 15th and 16th Street knew that was her favorite beverage.
George Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Leroy Taylor and grandson, Richard (Lemons) Taylor.
George Ann leaves to cherish her memory; Daughters, Barbara Ann, Rosetta, Jacqueline (aka) Mookie, Karen and Paulette loving son Matthew, 18 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and 1 great grand on the way, One adopted son George Rodgers and a bonus granddaughter Wanda, and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
