Geraldine Teresa Cooper-Maletta

Geraldine Teresa Maletta (affectionately known as Gerri) was the youngest of three children born to the late Lewis and Lillian Shackelford on March 22, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

                Gerri was educated in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Public School System. Her love of learning never stopped. Our mother enjoyed music, politics, listening to news and learning new hobbies. She taught herself hoe to make candles and jewelry, how to strain glass and work with tile. Many have benefited from the beautiful things she created and gifted.

                In the years of 1966, Geraldine was united in holy matrimony to Nathaniel Michael Cooper. From this union four children were born, Eric Michael Cooper, Stephen Cooper, and Kim Sherrine Cooper-Howard.

                Later in life, Gerri met her true love, Fausto Maletta. On July 21, 2007, they joined in matrimony in the company on the children. Their love of cats brought two kitties (Tootsie and Chloe) into their lives, who they absolutely adored.

On arch 2, 2023, Geraldine was called home to be with the Lord. Her two siblings, Delores and Albert Shackelford proceeded her in death Gerri leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Eric Cooper (Peggy Brown), Kenneth Cooper (Octavia Renee Purnell-Cooper), Stephen Cooper (Joy Alexander) and Kim Sherrine Cooper-Howard (Anthony Howard); Grand-children: Eric Jr, Ciarra, Lauren, Kenneth Jr., Isaiah, Kimberly, Jaelyn, Jordyn and Tyler; Great-Grandchildren: Sonya and Jeremiah; Niece: Darlene Shackelford and a host of extended family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
