Gloria Edwards

Gloria Edwards, affectionately known as "Aunt Gloria", or "Glo-Glo" was born on March 11, 1933, the third of six children born to Herbert and Clara Edwards. She was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System, graduating from the South Philadelphia High School for Girls, Class of 1951.Gloria was a life long resident of South Philly, she loved her section of the city as well as her Phillies, Sixers, and Eagles!

Gloria worked for both the City of Philadelphia for 10 years and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, retiring after 30 years of devoted service.

Gloria had 16 nieces and nephews of whom she loved. You could count on seeing her at graduations, weddings, showers, any event showing her support.Gloria lived a very happy and vibrant life, squeezing every bit of life's juices out of her 92 years. She also exhibited a very spirited personality.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Clara Edwards, her siblings: Lois, Louise, Herbert Jr., Ruby, Evelyn and her significant other James "Big Jim" Ward. Although Gloria loved all of her family, she had special relationships with her niece and nephew Clara & Craig Lewis and her great niece Jennifer Gibbs. She is also survived by a host of family and friends including: Rose Newman, Marietta Phillips, Carmen Martin, and Muriel Bridell.
