Glorilyn Abigail Momilani Dupree

Glorilyn Abigail Momilani Dupree, aka: “Skippy” was given her eternal wings in the comfort of her home in Upper Darby, PA. On Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 30, 1956, to Howard Johnson Jr. And the late Loretta Nani Johnson. She was baptized in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Church of the living God.

Skippy was the 4th eldest of seven children and during her early education, she attended various schools while living on multiple Airforce Military bases from Hawaii to California to Ohio, and finally McGuire AFB in NJ. At age 1 2 the family settled in Willingboro after her father’s retirement, where she attended Willingboro Public School District, and later graduated from Pemberton night School earning her high school diploma.

Where building her legacy, Skippy met her first love, Daniel O. Knight and was blessed with two sons, Daman and Desman. Later in 1998, she married Larry Dupree and of that Union, she was blessed with her third son Larry Dupree III. Over the years, Skippy was employed by Denny’s and Pizza Hut and upon moving to PA, she then found employment at Cook’s Bar, Block Buster’s, and at Conway Retail.

Living In Upper Darby for the past 20 years with the love of her life, Vincent Trice aka Pharaoh she enjoyed taking trips and motorcycling from state to state. She had a huge passion for “dolphins” not the ones from Miami but anything swimming or flying out of the ocean. Yes, she was strictly a “Dallas Cowboys football fan for life” and she had an impressive line of Dallas apparel to prove it.

As the “Bop Queen” of our family, she always dragged us to the dance floor ready to teach the fine art of bopping. She adored her some Luther Vandross but most of all she loved being with her family. Once retailed, she became a permanent mommy, aunty and sister to many around her or in other words a “reliable sitter” as she so loved spending time with her grandchildren, little nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching Hallmark, Ion, A&E, and Sports Football channels while indulging on some of her favorite foods like oxtails, turkey wings, her “Bubba Kanel’s” famous spaghetti and German Chocolate Cake.

She made sure to be present for every graduation, wedding, birthday, sporting event, and dance recital – the life of the party.

Attractive, beautiful, amazing, delightful, funny, loving, giving, describes Skippy: mom, daughter, sister, grandma, aunty, cousins, and friend. She will be remembered as a “People Person”, as she was possessed with a passion to be able to welcome people, listen, the ability to make someone feel secure, to where they walked away smiling building life-long loyal relationships.

Skippy was preceded in death by his mother Loretta, sister Gwen, brother Howard, and Nephew Curtis III. She leaves to cherish her memories: Three sons, Daman and Desman Johnson and Larry Dupree III; grandchildren: Rashid Browning. Dwayne Holbrook. Darriona Dawkins, Desman Jr. And Laila Johnson; Ajanae Conyers, Daman Jr., Londyn, Dion, Dakari, and Dallas Johnson, Momilani and Larry Dupree IV; great-grandchildren, Storm Holback, K’yell Dawkins, Denim and Gunna Browning; godchildren. Latoya Sheppard, Tameka Toole, Rasheen Jackson and the late Tealisha Baker.
