Harvey Elwood Fleming

Harvey was born November 20, 1935 to the late Effie and Albert Fleming. On the evening of Monday, November 6. Our beloved Harvey slipped away and was called home by our Heavenly Father. God felt he was fighting a hard battle with illness and called him home. He’s preceded in death by his wife Florence, 2 brothers Milton (Dicky) Fleming and Albert (Danny) Fleming.

Harvey was the oldest of 5 children. Harvey’s life was well lived. He spent most of his time in North Philly around 18^th & Jefferson which he claimed proudly.

Harvey received his education in the in the Philadelphia School System. Later he joined the U.S. Marines for many years he was employed as a electrician at Sterling lighting Co. until his health began to fail.

Uncle Harvey or Unc as he was affectionally called was always the life of every party. He had a strong passion for singing, dancing and playing instruments. He was always a sharp dresser and oh yes don’t forget his Budweiser Beer.

Harvey spent the last 15 years of his life with his (little big sister) Virginia and her husband Bob who also proceeded him in death. Every where you saw Virginia you would see her brother. Every chance he had he would tell her he loved her.

Harvey leaves to cherish his memories his beloved sisters Virginia King & Joan Blake, 4 special nieces, Penny, Bunny, Vern and Chrissy; Special cousins near to his heart, Bootsie, Donell, Dee Dee, Eddie and Bernice and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
