Philadelphia

Lamont Edge, lovingly known as "Old Man" was born January 20, 1963, to the late Dorothy Lee Edge and Morris Edge in Philadelphia, PA. He was educated in the Philadelphia public school systems. Lamont accepted Christ at an early age and attended King David Baptist Church, 20th & Ellsworth St. in Philadelphia. Lamont held various jobs, including Licensed Security and Environmental Services, and he assisted in other related duties all over the City of Philadelphia. Lamont loved sports, especially Tennis and Racquetball. He loved entertainment. He always had a smile and was always the life of the party!!!!Being a very positive person, Lamont seen the good in everything. Even though he struggled with an illness you wouldn't known it!!!! He had an illness, but the illness didn't have him. Lamont was the most positive person I knew. God-fearing with unshakable faith, he believed everything, regardless of what the situation was, was going to be OK.Battling a progressive illness for years he believed that Our God would continue to make a way out of nowhere for him and He did!!!!Being the life of the party in his younger years, Lamont was always on the floor cutting a rug. His close friends called him, "Old Man & Monty Hall". Lamont will be greatly missed. The Lord seen he was suffering and called him home. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!!!Forever in our hearts! We love you, Lamont!Lamont was preceded in death by his only daughter (the love of his life) Shawnese Renee Edge, 3 grandchildren, Kaseemah, Kaleb and Serenity, One Sister and Best Friend Marcia Margo Edge, 2 Brothers, Jesse Montague and Morris Edge, Jr. and a nephew that he raised like a son, Lamar Kenny Edge, Corey Sample and Maurice Edge, 2 nieces, Marceda Montague and Stephanie Sample, 2 best roadies, Rocky Randolph and Ralph Jones, with a few loving caregivers, Zeek Lyons (the Lord used Zeek to be a blessing to Lamont by being very supportive and making sure he had everything he needed; and Iris who was by Lamont's side 24hours a day and made herself available whenever needed will never be forgotten. We bless God also for Kim who was another of Lamont's caregivers, along with a host of Aunts, Uncle, Cousins and Friends. There will never be another Monty Hall. Gone but never forgotten!!! We will miss him so much!!!!
