Loretta Ann Howard

Loretta Ann Howard affectionately known as "Chicken" went home to be with the Lord while at Jefferson Hospital on December 28, 2019. Chicken was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to the late William Vanderbilt Staples and Winnie R. (Staples) Echoles and maternal granddaughter of the late Emanuel Sr. and Berth Selina (Tilly) Pleasant. Chicken attended Philadelphia Public School as a young child and teenager. She leaves to cherish her memories, her life-long partner, Barbara James; her sisters, Beverly Ann Howard Brooks and Denise Lanore Staples of Bridgeton, NJ, Myrtis P. Robbins (Tony) of Hawthorne, FL, and ALice Elizabeth Jones of Palatka, FL; two brothers,William Lee Howard of at water, CA and Kerry Staples of New Britain, CT; one sister-in-law, Josephine Pleasant; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she predeceased by three brothers, Robert L. Pleasant, William V. Staples III, Jerome V. Staples; six sisters, Irmerjean Howard James, Yvonne W, Yvette Yolanda M, Debbie Staples and Cynthia Staples Clark; one uncle; and a host of aunts and cousins.
