On April 8, 2025, Melvin departed this life surrounded by his wife, family Melvin and friends. Angela Melvin Watson was born on August 1, 1938, to the late Herbert and Ruth A. Wi Matson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the second child to this stepsisters union. Wats brother Melvin was educated through the Philadelphia Public School System. Mela Melvin enlisted in the U. S. Army National Guard of Pennsylvania. He Jada. received an honorable discharge on January 20, 1960.greatMelvin's first union produced two children. Melvin and Late Louise family(Weezy) were married for 39 years. On April 16, 2016, Melvin united in Sor marriage with Yvonne Peters (His Jewel).Melvin worked for Lannett Co Inc. Pharmaceutical Company for 36+ years starting as a driver and at the time of his retirement, he was the warehouse manager. Melvin also bartended for Scotty's Bar and B.J's Lounge.Melvin served his community holding various positions within the 36 Ward gth Division for decades.Melvin was also a Past Exalted Ruler of Old Quaker City. He was also a member of the Lincoln Post 89 Legion for over 22 Years.When Melvin was not working, he enjoyed watching the Eagles, Sixers, and the Phillies. Melvin started cruising with Club Jamaz. Melvin had 20+ plus years of cruising under his belt. Melvin also enjoyed listening to the oldies, cookouts, drinking his Amstel Beerjknlik and Pepsi Soda, and New Year's Eve celebrations with family and friends. He also enjoyed taking weekend, day trips with his support dog Mercedes.Melvin lived to see the 1» African American President, 1" African American Supreme Court Female Justice, I™ African American Female Mayor, and The Philadelphia Eagles winning two SuperbowlChampionships.Melvin leaves to cherish his memory: his wife (His Jewel) Yvonne, children, Angela Watson-Golson (late James), Elaine Watson-Reed (Curtis), JosephA. Watson (preceded in death, Doncella Nicholson, Desi I. Best, and the stepchildren Christopher, Paul (Andrea, and Arlene Williams (Jonathan), sisters Quintella Asberry and Linda Fulton (Jo-Jo) (Keith), brother Harold Watson (proceeded him in death), sister-in-law, Marie Coleman (Reedie), brother-in-law Lacy Crawford, Sr. (Linda), grandchildren Eric, Jamar, Melany, Jovan, Jonae, Chanel, Wallace, Rodney, Shakia, Jalen, Amina Jada, Jonathan, Jr., Aniya, Cindy, Tina, William, Anaya, Zariah, and Kyle great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and a host of family and friends. A special dog named Mercedes.
