Michael “Mike” Johnson April 18, 1958 – November 2, 2025 Michael “Mike” Johnson, 67, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 2, 2025. Born on April 18, 1958, in Philadelphia, Mike was the beloved son of the late Morris W. Johnson and Dolores Chandler. Mike grew up in a close-knit family alongside his siblings—Odessa Smith, Morris Johnson, and Kenneth Chandler, who preceded him in death—

and his surviving sisters, Marie Johnson and Vanessa Berry.

A proud graduate of the Philadelphia Public School System, Mike built a dedicated career in security. Over the years, he served faithfully at Sears Company, Temple University’s Mayer Hall on the Penn Campus, and Allied Barton Security Company. Known for his professionalism, warmth, and easy smile, Mike was a familiar and trusted presence to all who met him. He approached every day with kindness and an eagerness to help others, earning the respect and affection of many. Mike was a man with a generous heart and a gentle soul. He deeply loved his family and friends, and he shared a special bond with Ms. Gloria Simmons and her family, who brought joy and companionship into his life. He also cherished his many nieces, nephews, and cousins—each holding a special place in his heart. In his leisure time, Mike embraced life’s simple pleasures—whether visiting the casino, dining out, or enjoying quiet moments with loved ones. His laughter, warmth, and easygoing spirit brought comfort and happiness to everyone around him. 

To Michael, we say: God never makes a mistake. He saw your pain and whispered, “Come, my child, and rest. I have a home for you where there is no more pain.” Michael, you will forever be loved and deeply missed.
