Mr. Donald T. Wilson Sr.

Donald Tyler Wilson Sr. was born on June 11, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Mary E. Wilson-Dugan better known as “Babe” to everyone in the neighborhood. Donald was the younger of two children. Donald’s early life was rooted in South Philly, he experienced a loving family his upbringing would shape the man he would later become. 

In 1947 Donald met and married Earline Nole, from this union came five children whom they adored Deborah, Donald, Jeffery, Jack, and Zina. Although this relationship was not permanent, they remained friends throughout their lives. Years later Donald married Sarah Williams and they had one son Deon.

Donald, worked for over 40 years for the City of Philadelphia Sanitation Department. He lived his life to the fullest, he enjoyed a good party and celebrating a joyous occasion with his family and friends. He had a passion for walking everywhere in the city, and just hanging out with his retired friends at the Lincoln Post 89, 1201 Lounge, Gallery or Reading Terminal. On Wednesday February 21^st, 2024, God called Donald from labor to rest so he could receive his heavenly crown.

Donald is preceded in death by Earline Nole-Wilson, his daughter Deborah A. Wilson-Storr and brother Eddie Wilson.

Donald leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Donald, Jeffery (Rosa), Jack (Diane), and Deon; one daughter Zina (Ernest); (2) stepchildren Yvette and Troy Williams, (2) nephews Gregory (Josephine), Eddie (Mildred), (9) grandchildren Jeffery, Demetrius, Joseph, Marques (LaToi), Stephanie (Randall), Lawrence, EZ, Jacob and Jadon; (19) great grandchildren, (5) great nieces/nephews, (16) great-great nieces/nephews and longtime friend Bernadette Hollomon.
