Piladelphia

Adelaide who was lovingly known as Pat was born October 27, 1934 to the late Wesley and Lelah Winder in Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Pat was raised in South Philadelphia along with her 7 brothers and sisters who had a close loving connection's. Pat was educated in the Philadelphia School System and graduated from Edward Bok Vocational-Technical School in June of 1953.On October 29, 1955 she married William Sabb and from that union they were blessed with 7 children. Pat created a loving home and one that was based on morals and values with a discipline that would carry on. Mrs. Pat had a love for children which drew her to work for the school district and her years were spent at George W. Childs school. She later transitioned to work for Warsaw Insurance Company where she excelled in administrative duties and was well loved there too. From here she retired in job only as she already loved being a grandmother but now had the joy of being a full-time grandmother for our children who were born after. She was a long-standing member of House of Prayer Baptist Church where she faithfully served as an usher as well as the decorator for special events. She had a love for the Lord that allowed her to shine as she walked in her duties. She later went on to become a member of Word of Faith Outreach and Deliverance Ministries where she became a Mother of the Church. This was fitting as she was always guiding, directing and loving everyone. She had such a welcoming presence it was hard not to be drawn to her and her words of wisdom were welcomed. Her joy was in helping and listening and loving you back to life. She enjoyed baking her much requested sweet potato pies, crafting, decorating and passing on how to do it as she got up in her years especially to her granddaughter Tanita. Pat was preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Lelah, her brothers, Billy, Dana and John and her sisters Wana and Dorothy and daughter-in-law Phyllis Sabb. She leaves her legacy and memories to be cherished by her children, Patricia (Byron), William (Sina), Richard (Michele), Cheryl, Steven, Renea (Kenneth) and Adriane (Ronald). One brother George Winder and one sister Vera Utsey. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and godson George Gaskins.
