                                                                   MOM's RESUME

Residence: Mom was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia on November 2, 1929, she was the only child born to her parents.

Education: she was enrolled in, and attended the Philadelphia school system, as an extra curriculum, mom took private piano lessons and learned also to play the pipe organ.

Marshall history: upon leaving school she met, and later married, Nathan Chapman, four children were born to this union, Nathan jr., Marguerite, Renée, and Ricardo, “aka” Ricky. Mom loved her children!

Spiritual history: knowing the importance of having salvation, after receiving Jesus, as her savior, mom immediately presented the word of God to her family, the family attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church previously located at 13th and Melon Street. While there, she provided her service, playing the piano for both adult and young choirs -also at times, skillfully playing the pipe organ. It was amazing to watch the coordination of her feet, moving across the foot pedal on the organ, while her hands played on the console. She was gracefully, gifted by God to minister in this capacity, without taking pay.

Employment: when employment was necessary, mom worked in a restaurant for a short duration before, landing a job with the city of Philadelphia as the elevator operator for several years. She then applied for, and was hired as a court clerk. Later she was promoted, and retired as court Crier.

Laughter was brought unto her soul after joining Gospel Temple Baptist Church in the mid to late 70s where Daniel Black is pastor. Joyfully she played for the #two choir and Gospel light singing groups. For those who thought they did not have a singing voice, Mom would encourage them in a somewhat stern way to sing. Afterwards, they would sing, and sing with confidence!

Fulfill desire: mom’s desire was to travel. So, from the east coast to the west… from California to Canada, to the Caribbean to the Hawaii, then Alaska (just to name a few), she traveled. God gave her the desire of her heart. Her gratitude was expressed citing Psalms 34:3… “Oh magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

References: the KING of Kings, himself, JESUS CHRIST.

“ Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for he is God, because his mercy endures forever period.”
