Nathaniel Morris was born on April 14, 1956 to Dorothy
"Daisy" Morris in South Philadelphia. He was one of seven children. After High School, he joined the Navy in
1977. There he became a boiler technician on the ship. He spent four years there and received an honorable discharge.
Nathaniel then entered the Navy reserves and later the Army reserves. In the Army, he served as a marksman and sharpshooter. After returning home, Nathaniel joined the Philadelphia Fire Department. There he spent 30 years until his retirement.

In his later years, he could be found hanging out at the Post or stopping by the firehouse. He was often joking and telling stories. He was known for his sarcastic humor and his big laugh. Nathaniel enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to travel and always longed to be near the water. He made one last request in regards to his homegoing. Nathaniel asked that his ashes be scattered in the ocean so that he could return to the sea.

Nathaniel leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Nathaniel Reel, Nia Morris-Brumfield (Reginald) and Jani Morris- Woodards Jamal). His grandchildren, Terrell, Jerrell, Janelle, Niko, Amari and Jaden. His sisters, Nadene Price and Tamara Morris. His nieces: Tyra, Sheree, Alexis and Gabrielle. His Uncles, Myron, Burton and Alden Williams. His Aunt, Sandra Bibb and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kori Ann.
