Patricia Jett

Patricia Beatrice Jett was born to the late Horace and Nellie Patton in Philadelphia, PA. on April 19, 1942. She was number twelve of fifteen children; twelve of which preceded her in death.

As a child she was raised Catholic, but later converted and began worshiping as a Baptist. Patricia started her education in the Parochial School System, later transitioning to the Philadelphia Public School System and graduating from South Philadelphia High School.

Patricia began her career in 1958, making men and boy’s clothing for the Botany 500 manufacturing company. She held this position until 1974.

During her life, she participated in local organizations supporting gang control, crisis intervention, Native American rights, and homeless feeding programs. She had many interests, but she was most passionate about singing in the choir and ushering at Gospel Temple Baptist Church. She also liked traveling to the casinos and listening to Jazz and Gospel music with family and friends.

Patricia was called “Pat” by all of her family and friends but was also affectionately known as “Ms. Young and Sexy”. Her favorite saying was “If you got it, flaunt it”.
