Richard Cooke

Richard Alexander Cooke was born on December 15, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Robert Jefferson Cooke, Jr. and Earline (Hudson) Cooke. He was the oldest of three children. Richard was known as “Cooke” to his friends.  He was educated in the Philadelphia Catholic and Public School Systems.

 On Saturday, September 30, 2023, after a long battle with lung disease, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, mercy and grace, closed the eyes of his servant, Richard, and he entered into his eternal rest. 

Richard is survived by his two sisters, Alma Cohen and Roberta Griffin; one son, Tyrone Cooke, Sr.; Four daughters, Kim Cooke, Shavonne Brewer, Tracey Brown, and Brea Kelley; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Psalm 23: 4-6 

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table for me in the presence of my enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
