Early afternoon on Monday, October 9th our beloved Ruth slipped away and was called home by our Heavenly Father. God felt she was fighting a hard battle with illness and called her home. She's preceded in death by 1 sister Anna Mae (North Carolina), 3 brothers Harold Jr. and Cleveland (Philadelphia), James Sr. (North Carolina).
Ruth was born to the late Harry and Bessie Monroe on August 23rd 1929 in West End, North Carolina. In union with willie McLean who precedes her in death had one son Clarence (Skeeter). Ruth worked many jobs such as Sanford's Tobacco Plant and multiple restaurants and bar. In 1956 she decided to move to New York for better job opportunities she stayed there until relocating to Philadelphia in 1960 to be with her family.
Ruth's life was well lived, a family of love, laughter and sometimes tears but it always worked out. To know Ruth you had to love her she hardly said no to anyone. She loved her son and the children as she would say talking about her grands and great grands. Dineisha took handle when both dad and grandma became ill never complaining about anything.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memories, son Clarence (Skeeter), two granddaughters Cierra and Dineisha, two great grandchildren Taylan and Cyriah, two sisters Juanita and Lucielle (New York), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a dear friend Russetta Harris.
