Verdon Jazmir Young was born October 17, 1990 in Philadelphia, PA to Michelle Lyde and Verdon Young.
He was the middle of two siblings Saleema Waters and Davon Young. Verdon recieved his education in the Philadelphia School system, where he graduated from Parkway Program High School in 2008. Verdon was entering his last year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where he was studying Exercise Science.
Verdon was a very kind spirit. He was soft spoken but fun loving and could make you laugh. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, watching sports and spending time with his family. Verdon was an athlete who enjoyed playing basketball and football as well as running track. He was a diligent worker who enjoyed giving back to his community even working as a camp counselor at Reformation Lutheran Church. Verdon took much pride in his most recent job at LA Fitness where he assisted in training members and promoted new membership.
At a young age, Verdon accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at New Bethlehem Baptist Church. He later attended LaMott AME Church, where he served as an usher and volunteer with the food pantry.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Michelle, father Verdon, sister Saleema and brother Davon. Grandparents Vera Walker and Michael Lyde and beloved (mom-mom) Valerie Lyde. Great grandmother Lois Bassett, Aunts Jameeela Bynum, Atiya Smith and Rasheeda Young. Uncles Michael Lyde, Lester Young and Omar Young. God-Parents, Kenya, Michael, Douglas and Laverne and a host of cousins, frinds and loved ones.
