"I was born on January 16th, 1959, to Wilson and Leola Tate, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was raised in 'Vest Philadelphia with my older brother Floyd, and my sisters, Sharon and Dona. As a child I loved playing with my mack trucks. I took up boxing as my favorite sport. I was also a talented artist. Growing up I was immersed in the Christian faith at West Bethlehem Church in Philadelphia by my grandmother, Matilda Williams. I attended Benjamin Franklin High School. I went by many names Mack, Daddy, Dad, Pop-pop, "Protector, " "Man of Faith, " "Believer, " and "Gentle Man. " I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at an early age. I rededicated my life to Christ and became a born again believer. I loved praying, reading the bible, and sharing my testimonies about my relationship with God and the Holy Spirit. For many years, I worked at SPS Technologies, and in my spare time, I accomplished carpentry, masonry and automotive work. In 1981, I formed a union with Katherine Morgan, and out of that union came Makiyah, Rhadesia, and Shanerha. thoughdivorcing in later years, Kathy and I remained good friends. My children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to me; there was not anything that I would not do for them. My greatest joy was spending time with my family and friends.
